PAPER WEIGHT & COMPATIBILITY

Q. How much do the different papers and card stocks weigh?
A. Group C1-C2 and C4-C5. Card Stocks range from 80-90 lbs.
Group P1-P2 papers are 20-26 lbs.
Group V1 Translucents are 17-21 lbs.
Group V2 Translucents 29-30 lbs.

Q. How much postage will I need for the 5x7, 6x9 or 7x7 pocketfold?
A. If mailing within the U.S., postage starts at $0.57. Please check the USPS site for more information on weight and size restrictions.

Q. Can I run the card stocks, papers and translucents through my printer?
A. Envelopments, Inc. chooses “laser friendly” stocks to be in the line. However, with all of the different types or printers out on the market, every printer reacts differently to the varying card stock weights and finishes. Furthermore, each printer may not accomodate paper sizes smaller than 5"x7". For these reasons, Envelopments, Inc. does not guarantee printing. It is your responsibility to test your printer with the Envelopments® line to ensure it can handle printing on the card stock you desire.

LASER PRINTERS
Most of the smooth card stocks, translucents and papers are laser printer compatible. Textured card stocks (i.e. Ecru, but not Classic Ecru) may have difficulties with laser printers due to the fact that the laser printer's heating mechanism may not generate enough heat to heat the toner ink, allowing adhesion to the textured stock. Please test your laser printer with the Envelopments® line to ensure it can handle printing on the card stock you desire.

INK JET PRINTERS
Paper weights and vellums (translucents) are not as porous as cardstock, therefore the ink of an inkjet printer tends to “bleed”. (Though, 95% of our customers have had success using ink jet printers with paper and vellums.) Please test your ink jet printer with the Envelopments® line to ensure it can handle printing on the card stock you desire.

OFF-SET PRINTERS
Offset printing usually works for all of the card stocks, papers and translucents. However, this is limited to the printers discretion. Please test your off-set printer with the Envelopments® line to ensure it can handle printing on the card stock you desire.

Q. Do I need an outer envelope with the pocketfold, z-card or envelopment?
A. While not required, it is highly recommended that you use an outer envelope with the envelopment, z-card or pocket fold when sending through the mail. Using an outer envelope will ensure that the contents will not be destroyed and that any loose pieces will not get lost.

Q. I saw an Envelopments® card stock at a retail store. Do you carry the same one?
A. If Envelopments makes it, we carry it. Please note that we are an independent distributor of the Envelopments line.

Q. I would like an envelope in the same color as the pocket fold (or envelopment, z-card, etc.) I'm ordering. Do you have one to match?
A. Envelopments, Inc. carries the following envelope colors:
Group E1 Classic Ecru & Classic White
Group E2 Colored Envelopes
Group E3 Crystal Clear

SAMPLES

Q. Why don't you give out free samples?
A. As a home-based business, we do our best to keep overhead low. Because of this, we do not run a warehouse that keeps all the card stocks, pocket folds, envelopments, z-cards, papers, translucents and tissues in all size of all paper types. If you're interested in checking out the Envelopments® products first hand, we offer a Sampler Pack and Swatch Deck available for purchase.

Q. I don't have an Envelopments retailer by me to view the available paper choices and styles in person. How do I know if the papers or card stocks will match the colors for which I'm looking or fit the style I'm trying to achieve?
A. We currently offer a Sampler Pack containing the most popular Envelopments® items. The Swatch Deck is now also available for purchase.

Q. I only want to see one particular color. How do I do this?
A. We have the most updated Envelopments color chart available as well as on-line swatches for viewing.

Q. Will you be carrying more card stock soon?
A. The current Envelopments® colors were released in late February, 2006. No new colors are anticipated at this time.

DESIGN & HOW-TO

Q. What is the best way to adhere the card stocks together?
A. For 5x5 card stocks and larger, we recommend using the Adhesive Transfer Gun and Adhesive Transfer Tape. The ATG is similar to using a packing gun but is designed for "craft" projects. The ATT is acid-free.

For smaller pieces or charms and bows, we recommend the use of Glue Dots.

Q. I'd love to copy one of the designs in the Creative Corner. Where do I start?
A. As we add samples to the Design Gallery, we will also add "recipes" (list of materials used to create the sample) to help you replicate the same masterpiece.

Q. Will the envelopes fit the envelopment, pocketfold or z-card?
A. Yes, the Envelopments(R) line uses the mix-and-match system. All the envelopes are sized to fit any of the corresponding envelopment, pocketfold or z-card sizes.

Q. I already have an invitation/announcement, but I would love to incorporate it with an envelopment or pocketfold. Will this work?
A. Yes. As long as your current items fit or can be customized to fit one of the standard sizes, you can encase it with an envelopment, pocket fold or z-card or even decorate it with more card stock, paper, translucents or tissues.

Q. Do you print or do I print? Do you assemble?
A. Yes, yes and yes! The prices on the site are for do-it-yourself projects, meaning you print and you assemble. For those either weary of their craft skills, we do offer either/both printing and assembly services. Prices for printing and/or assembly are quoted on a project-by-project basis.

Printing and assembly prices are on a case by case basis. We outsource the print jobs to different graphic designers based on your needs. In order to provide a quote, we will need:
  • Description of project (including sizes, units, card stocks/pocket folds/envelopments/etc.)
  • List of items to be printed and card stock on which to be printed
  • Brief description of what you want printed on each item

Once we receive this information, we will forward it to one of our graphic designers for a price quote.
